BIOGRAPHY
Rachel Ana Dobken is a quadruple treat (drums, guitar, vocals, piano) who has a knack for blending indie-rock, soul, and jazz. Described as “My Morning Jacket meets Lake Street Dive,” her music is raw and honest with a stage presence so emotionally captivating it's been compared to the likes of Jeff Buckley and Janis Joplin. She has played with G. Love, Robert Randolph, Rayland Baxter, Brian Fallon, Nicole Atkins, Blind Melon, Tash Neal, Danny Clinch and many more.
Dobken’s highly anticipated LP, When It Happens To You, dropped October 2018 and features Dobken (producer/songwriter, drums, vocals, guitar, piano), Dan Haase (bass), Ryan MacLean (guitar), Andy Jackle (drums), Chris Dubrow (bass), Mark Masefield (B3 organ), Joey Henderson (guitar, vocals), Danny Clinch (harmonica) Ian Gray (trombone), Bruce Krywinski (trumpet), Denis Daley (bari sax). Recorded at Cedar Sounds in Oceanport, NJ.
Dobken has been featured by The Deli Magazine, The Star Ledger, Relix Magazine, BTRtoday, New York Times, Asbury Park Press, Travel+Leisure, the cover of The Aquarian Weekly, and more. All photographs for the record were taken by famed rock photographer, Danny Clinch, who has worked with Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, My Morning Jacket, Bob Dylan and many more. Rachel worked closely with Clinch as his Music Director at his Transparent Gallery in Asbury Park.
